Thanks for showing interest in Smiles on Wings. Our next mission with available volunteer spots is in July 2012.
Attached are a mission guide and two forms that need to be completed in order for you to be considered as a volunteer. Since we haven't figured out the dates for our July trip yet, there's no due date for the forms but if you are greatly interested, sending them in as soon as possible would be best.
Pricing:
Volunteers pay for their own expenses including airfare, lodging, meals, and transportation from the nearest airport to hotels/mission sites. If we have the privilege to stay at the school or health center, the lodging during the mission will be free.
Usually our volunteer expenses each week only run about $250 including housing or about $75 just for food if you are staying at the school.
The expensive part is the flights; the international flight is usually around $1400-$1700. The in country flight from Phuket-Chiang Mai (southern mission to northern mission) should only be about $100 and then about $60 back to Bangkok if that is where you are flying out of.
I am guessing for two weeks including international airfare it will cost you about $2500-3000. Again, all costs are approximate but generally volunteering an extra week doesn't cost that much more, certainly not double.
Important:
Attached is the mission participant guide for further information about our missions. The participant information sheet and waiver are also attached and must be completed and returned to SOW via e-mail, mail or fax before you are considered as an applicant for a mission.
All mission participants will be subject to a phone interview before acceptance on the trip.
Please email me at any time if you have questions.
Thanks,
Melissa
